iFert Agricultural Soil Testing services - plant & soil sampling, analysis & diagnosis

Soil & Plant Diagnostics

Our Soil & Plant Diagnostics service clearly identifies deficiencies in nutrients and trace elements that limit production. Thorough testing gives iFert customers solid information on which to build their fertiliser programme — our service is the opposite of a ‘hit and hope’ mentality. We offer Soil & Plant Diagnostics both as a standalone service and as a key part of our comprehensive fertiliser consultancy.

This service includes a comprehensive on-farm visit where we fully analyse the chemical, biological and physical aspects of the whole farm system, looking at up to 140 levels of data. This data consists of laboratory soil, herbage and animal dietary reports along with on-site measurements including electrical conductivity, soil respiration, compaction, chlorophyll content, and hydrophobicity.  This is an invaluable tool to support commercially- and environmentally-sound fertiliser decision-making.

Soil & Plant Diagnostics includes testing soil and plants for: pH, nitrogen, potassium, calcium, sodium, complex carbohydrates, electrical conductivity, soil respiration, compaction, chlorophyll content, and hydrophobicity. This is an invaluable tool to support commercially- and environmentally-sound fertiliser decision-making.

A relatively small upfront investment safeguards your annual fertiliser budget – and ensures that you are putting your money into the nutrients that your farm needs most.

“This year it’s been a really difficult season. We’ve gone from December floods to January drought and we’ve still been able to maintain our yields — which means the iFert treatment is paying for itself. By investing in the health of our soil, we’re building strong foundations for seasons to come. I’m getting a 10% return from iFert and only 4% with the bank – I know where I’m putting my money.”
